Want to make sure your water heater stays in tip-top shape? Then follow these basic maintenance tips from the water heater pros at Winthrop Supply, your Indianapolis Rheem Water Heater Conversion Center

  1. At least once or twice a year, drain a couple gallons of water from your water heater, following the manufacturer’s instructions. This helps remove sediment that can inhibit energy efficiency.
  2. See that your water heater’s temperature isn’t set too high – otherwise, you’re just wasting energy. 120º F (48º C) is sufficient for most household needs. And, at that setting, you’ll save a fair amount of money on your energy bills.
  3. If you’re going to be away from your home for any extended length of time, use your water heater’s “Vacation” setting to reduce energy consumption while you’re gone. The Rheem water heaters we carry at Winthrop allow you to do this with relative ease. It involves getting the Rheem EcoNet App for your smartphone, setting your Rheem water heater up on EcoNet, and making sure your smartphone and the water heater are in sync. No doubt you have questions about this. Rest assured, our staff can answer them. We’ll help you get set up properly for savings!
  4. Should it ever start leaking, replace the temperature and pressure relief valve as soon as you can to avoid further water heater complications. You can trust that we have these parts in stock. In fact …
